This is the Catbalogan we will always remember. It is the Catbalogan we want to perpetuate in this Coffee Table Book.

It will be readily noted that the book contains more of Catbalogan's past than of its present. This is because we expect that it will not be the first and the last book on our hometown.

There may be gaps in the historical data chronicled in the book. But even as it is, painstaking research had been undertaken by its writers. Many of the photographs have been graciously lent by Catbaloganons here and abroad. To them we extend our most profound gratitude.

We hope that the Catbaloganons will find in this book a mirror of their own identity, and rekindle in them a genuine interest in the place of their birth.
